How to Stay Young

When people ask me how old I am I usually throw the question back and ask them "How old do you think I am?". The answers vary and amusingly they normally don't get it correctly.LOL. And what's more comical is the reaction I get when I tell them the fact. It's quite flattering to hear people say that I don't look my age and that I can still pass as a juvenile.LOL.

Truthfully, if people met me like nine months ago, they would probably say a different thing. You see, I've been through some mumbo-jumbo experience the early months of 2009. It was shocking but at the same time it was the beginning of liberation.I've always called it a "blessing in disguise" as I've been really blessed after.

Anyway, I've always described myself as a relatively happy person. I've always been optimistic on things.Yeah, I still grumble, rant and complain but after letting out the disgust and stress - that's it. I move on, laugh about it and throw it over my shoulders. As I've always said, I don't want to stress on things I can do nothing about because that's just how things are. Shit happens but it doesn't mean you stay with it. Life is too good to be wasted on umworthy things. The world is full of things to discover and learn and we only have limited time to do it in this lifetime.

But don't get me wrong. I'm not the all-out happy-go-lucky type of person. I'm an OC and I think about things seriously and intensely. I plan things and I make very careful decisions in my life. I'm a bit uptight sometimes but I can be carefree, spontaneous and impulsive at times too. Yup, I'm a walking contradiction and sometimes we just all have to be. haha. What I'm really saying is sometimes we have to learn to let go and be impetous in having fun and being free.

I received this forwarded email and it inspired me to write this blog. I do not know the author but anyway I think it is worth sharing. When I went through it, I couldn't help but agree that most of the listing is absolutely true. And subconciously I've come to realize that I've been doing these things already. Maybe that's why I don't look my age (Okay don't go researching how old I am now. HAHA).

So here, I'm posting this so you can ponder upon it and probably live by it.

How to Stay Young
-Anonymous

1. Throw out nonessential numbers. This includes age, weight and height. Let the doctors worry about them. That is why you pay 'them'.- haha. I've actually stopped counting. I am not old. I am just numerically altered. LOL.

2. Keep only cheerful friends. The grouches pull you down. In addition, leave those user-friendly people that suck up all your aura, chakra and energy. You don't need them. Surround yourself with worthy beings.

3. Keep learning. Learn more about the computer, crafts, gardening, whatever. Never let the brain idle. 'An idle mind is the devil's workshop.'

4. Enjoy the simple things. Be it a simple text froma  friend, a swift kiss, a warm hug and a cheerful hello. We all just have to be contented and accept things as they are and not expect too much especially when we know it's impossible.

5. Laugh often, long and loud. Laugh until you gasp for breath. They say that it only takes 17 muscles to laugh while frowning uses 43 muscles. So instead of frowning and stressing yourself with small things - just laugh about it. You'll just have wrinkles and look old. Believe me this really works. Also, being cheerful reflects your inner personality and shows in your physicality. It's natural skin care. No need for botox or face lifts. Hehe.

6. The tears happen. Endure, grieve, and move on. The only person, who is with us our entire life, is ourselves. Be ALIVE while you are alive. There comes a point in our lives when we seem to lose hope and give up. It's either because we can't seem to handle the trials that come our way or someone has hurt us deeply. It's okay to cry as it will help you relieve the depression and sadness. But after that, wipe your tears, blow your nose and move on. There is no point dwelling on the what ifs and whys. Never let tribulations get the best of you. You hold your life and future and all you have to do is be stronger. Seek Him and He will definitely guide you.

7. Surround yourself with what you love - whether it's family, pets, keepsakes, music, plants, hobbies, whatever. Your home is your refuge . No place like home as they say and being around things and people you love equals happiness. You've work for it so you deserve to enjoy whatever perks that comes with it.

8. Cherish your health. If it is good, preserve it. If it is unstable, improve it. If it is beyond what you can improve, get help. Work hard, party harder but do not forget to keep your health in a condition that is better.

9. Don't take guilt trips. Take a trip to the mall, even to the next county; to a foreign country but NOT to where the guilt is. We need to enjoy life without the guilt. Spend, indulge, glutton - you earned it so enjoy it while you're still alive.

10. Tell the people you love that you love them - at every opportunity. Life is short, unpredictable and we have no control over it. So as long as there's opportunity, grab it.Tell people how much you love and care for them because we'll never know what tomorrow may bring and there might come a time we might not be able to say the things we should have said to important people in our lives because we procrastinated.

11. Don't waste time finding fault with others - they can usually find fault with themselves just fine. Try something challenging- LOOK FOR THE GOOD IN EVERYONE! Give people a chance. People are relatively good and we all just have to be optimistic about them. Who knows, maybe it's God's way of touching that person's life - through you.

AND ALWAYS REMEMBER :

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take, but by the moments that take our breath away.

Keep in mind that all we have to do is live life to the fullest each day. If you're having trouble, there's only one thing to do -  Lift up all your worries to Him and he will carry it for you.

Worry about nothing, pray about everything !

Smile. Laugh. Live. Stay Young.
